This Week
Well guys things have shaped up a lot this week here in the area. First off, sadly, the Young'n L didnt end up getting permission to be baptised,, but we have started to teach his Mom, so well see how things go.. As well I feel like a lot of prayers have been answered this week. We were kinda struggling these past weeks to find people and work with the members, but this week it felt like everyone just flocked too us! Like literally, new investigators have been coming out of nowhere haha! One of which is a lady named Y, who seems pretty prepared,, she says she's been looking for like a spiritual peace she hasn't found for a long time,, and i was like well lucky for you, we've got just what ya need! Jk i didn't actually say that, but i thought it😁.. As well this week I've been getting to know a few of the members a little bit more,, one of them is Luis Castillo,, he served a mission in Puerto Rico and has left with us to a couple of lessons,, in fact he left with us last night. And all of a sudden he looked at me and was like,, ok I can tell by your eyes the things you like to do...
Luis: So you like to golf (translation added)
ME: hmmm.. i indeed enjoy a good game of golf,, *Slightly suspicious maybe my companion told him
Luis: as well you like to search for a type of bone (he's never seen deer antler)
ME: *an astonished look in my eye* I do look for a type of bone, that deer have on their head,, how did you know!
Luis: I just know
Me: *amazed silence
Luis: and finally,, you like to catch and cook FROG!
Me: * Speechles because of pure and utter amazement
Luis: Jk i just found your facebook page😂
That's about it for this week,, i also ate some good hot dogs and drank some coconut juice by the sea! Overall it has been a really good week and its passed by super fast! I hope things are going good for everyone back home! Stay warm and safe,, Luvz, Elder Beard

So first off, sorry if i didn't end up getting back to ya last week, and possibly this week, The myldsmail servers are doing goofy stuff right now, But anyways, hope everythings going good for everyone this week.
a few exciting things happened this week, So first off.. Our Young friend G (who we've been working with forever, like since my training) Finally got permission to be baptised on the 20th which was the date Elder Alva and I set! I got the call from elder Alva this wednesday and was super happy to hear, I couldn't stop smiling! G wanted me to head back to Santa Cruz to baptise him, but unfortunatley we can only head back to an old area if its a family getting baptised,, but that's alright because the important thing is that he got baptized, and i know he's going to be a great member in this church! As well this week I got to go on an intercambio with Elder Kitchen which was awesome! The ol beaver boys walkin the streets of the DR[?] So to start off this intercambio, We were talking about Beaver, and the new Carls Jr. when suddenly my foot slips into a nasty puddle of gunk,, and i walked around sopping the whole rest of the day haha, but Elder Kitchen and I talked about everything just reminising (or however you spell it, spell check is in spanish here) about the good times we've had in Beaver and all of the good people, all the friends family and yea you know! I also learned a bit more about the stars and stuff, Elder Kitchen knows a bunch about them, he even pointed a few out to me at night! Other than that not too much has been happening,, we had a little Ward BBQ this week, which really reminded me of being back home and cooking on the mountain,, except usually back home we don't cook intestine haha! As well there are a few of our investigators who have a date to be baptised this saturday.. His name is L, the young guy, we are still trying to get permission from his mom, and really that's all we need and he's ready to go! Other than that Elder Hurtado and I have been searching for new people to teach and as well trying to help the Ward get a little more excited about missionary work! Well that's about it for this week! I hope things are going good for everyone back home, love you guys!

Well after 6 months in my first Area, I´m out of here,, It´s a little bit tough to say goodbye to everyone,, really it feels like Farewell 2, but its the mission life! First off, I said goodbye to a couple good (missionary) friends. One of which is Elder Correa who ended his mission this last transfer,, Pretty Sad to see him go to be honest, he was a super good missionary and friend! I´m gonna have to take a trip to Peru to see him and Elder Alva.. And maybe my next companion cause he´s also Peruvian.. His name is Elder Hurdaeo,, I´ve heard pretty good things about him!
tomorrow I´ll actually be leaving my area and heading to a new Zone named Osama,, Which is in the Capital, so its gonna be super city! My area is called Las Americas 2, and I´m actually gonna be in the same district as Elder Kitchen, so that means ill be seeing him every week and get to go on intercambios with him! I´m pretty excited about that,, de ol beaver boys workin together in the DR haha!
So funny story,, when we were waiting the call for transfers (theres always a lot of antisipation) All of a sudden I get a call from a random number and they told me Im heading out to san Pedro, I was super excited cause thats where Elder Hutchins, Allen, and Harris are at.. Actually Hutchins in now Zone Leader out in San Pedro so i was super pumped!! Suddenly.. a stinkin member calls me and was like aaaayyy ELDER that call was just me hahah!! i was like well sun of a gun haha! It´s cool how you can get close to the members and people in general out here, im gonna miss a lot of them here in the area,, and actually attatched a pic of my second domincan family here,, Name Yelfri and Joanna,, They were always there for us, feeding us, talking with us and all that good stuff, just like friends! And we became even closer this last transfer now that I could actually understand them haha! (although Joanna is learning english)..
So also this week we had our activity! It turned out to be pretty good! I´ll tell ya what we definetly needed and had the help of the Lord with this activity cause it is not easy to control 65 Dominicans,, Especially when they want food haha! We had a couple set backs, but overall things went really good,, It was a great time for everyone to come out and socialize learn a little more! We even used my disc of Meet the Mormons,, which is borderline gold out here! Every member wants a copy! I think this was a pretty good week to end my time here in Santa Cruz.. Its sad to leave, but it´s gonna be good to expereicne new places and faces 😁 ALSO this next house im going to still has hot water, so Ive still lucked out my whole mission to have houses with hot water haha!! I hope you guys have an awesome week! Stay Safe and Stay Warm (i know i sure am (on the warm part)... (jk mom im still safe😬), PS.. The pics, Elder Correa and I --

Toilet Wars
Well, just now, im here in the internet center and suddenly this little dominican kid with blue eyes starts looking at my computer and I asked him if he was gringo, and the lady behind me said yea, hes the poor-domincan version of a gringo.. lol that lady had no chill!
This week the end of the Domincan Baseball series ended.. Between 2 teams.. Escogido and Licey. They played tuesday night and holy cow! If you wanna get a Dominican going crazy you it either needs to be Christmas or you need to show them baseball.. There were about 50 people huddled around a tiny tv in every colmada (which is every corner) just yelling at the TV, at each other, and in the air (which is basically yelling at nothing).. So all of a sudden Licey took the lead and wow they went nuts,, suddenly like 3 people came ripping down the street on mopeds screaming and popping wheelies, there were people screaming for joy in the colmadas, kids in the street running around.. like literally without purpose im pretty sure they were running in circles, Even Maria, the empanada lady, got in on the action and waved her little spatula in the air for a minute! Ive never seen such joy with a switch of innings in my life! haha
Wow, so we decided to go to another internet center today and this was a mistake, there are literally 3 little freka´s (more or less means flirts) asking for my Visa, Like right now...
I just told them that I was from Germany and they dont want to go there cause we have hitler and he is bad.... Yup they bought it, they left.
So anyways this week, as the title suggests, i had a war with my toilet.. Needless to say I won this war (it´s in my blood), Although it wasnt easy, in fact the war lasted a good 3 days of Elder Beard (and a few bottles of acid) versus 20 years of uncleaned toilet.. This wasn´t your every day average unclean toilet.. This entered into the level SUPER EXTREMELY SEVER;LY unclean. the stuff on the toilet was half an inch thick!! I started off with just the brush and some bleach.. obviously not strong enough. I stepped it up a notch and bought acid.. A LOT (see pic) and after applying for 2 days I decided enough was enough. The morning of day 3 I brought out the big guns. I bougt a wire brush with a chizel tip and chizzeled the crap out of the toilet with the chizel brush.. And my hammer was an empty glass bottle of Acid haha!! I have it all on video, but can´t send it so I´ll make a movie or something about it when I get back.. But really I couldn´t let a toilet win!
So this week we have an activity saturday at 6 (youre invited if you want to come Santa Cruz Church) Its an open house.. We´re hoping it will be a success.. As well this past week we had something called a Noche Blanca (white night) where all the baptisms in the zone were put on the 31st of January. So we brought the young guy (Gabriel) who looks like hes 20, but is actually 13.. And he loved it.. He has a baptism date for the 20th of Feb.. And after last night he couldnt stop talking about his own baptism.. Even told me right there I was gonna be the one to baptise him (I hope i can cause transfers are coming up next week!) But really its been amazing to see the change in him. Hes been going to church, reading, praying all on his own without our help (and he needed our help a lot before) He´s matured a ton and I really do think hes ready to be baptised.. Unfortunately his mom still doesnt see that good side in him.. She said a bunch of stuff about how immiture he was.. i didnt want to contend so I just thanked her for the good son she raised and the chance I was able to have to meet her family.. And I mean it! Last transfer I was ready to bounce, but now I´m not so sure haha! Ive gotten close to a lot of people here in my first 6 months here in the mission.. Transfers next week though, So i guess we´ll see how things go!
That´s about it for this week Guys,, Thanks for all your support and everything! Sorry if I dont have a lot of time to
